The coolest thing in our design work for both comic book and DVD for Dick4Dick was messing around with Jakub Rebelka's artwork. In the comic album it was a matter of adding some cool effects to all three old-school ads inside the issue. In the DVD menu it was making a quick animation from scratch based on Jakub's illustration. For the ads, we have chosen some xero-style reconstruction shown below - a pinch of American 50s + high-school xerocopy quality + some Russian typo and it's done! You just have to make sure the physical paper reflects the idea, too!

Making the DVD menu sparkle was slighly harder. We wanted to avoid the 'Flash animation' effect as much as possible. Zooming and easing the layers (space, cockpit, dead pilot) is not enough but adding some camera work, blurs and color correction makes a HUGE difference:
